At the border of Vietnam and Laos, a flooded landscape: roads turned into rivers, mountains turned into islands. On a canoe, an old woman from the Ruc ethnic group, Mrs. Hậu, rows towards the cave where she was born and grew up with her family, before the soldiers chased them away.

Trương Minh Quý
Born in Buôn Ma Thuột in the Central Highlands of Vietnam, TRUONG Minh Quý often locates his films in this region that deeply inspires him. His works have been shown at numerous international festivals such as the Berlinale, Locarno, Rotterdam or New York. His latest film, Viêt and Nam (2024), was selected for Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival.

Nicolas Graux
Nicolas Graux grew up in Binche, a small town in the former Belgian mining basin. His work, between documentary and fiction, focuses on lives on the margins and everyday gestures, with a patient and poetic gaze. His first feature film, Century of Smoke (2019), premiered at Visions du Réel before circulating in numerous international festivals.
