In Singapore, Choo (16), a school dropout, returns to her elite all-girls school to join the graduating class. Her small acts of rebellion against tyrannical teachers attract the admiration of three other misfits: Vanessa, Gina, and Sofia. She befriends them and confides in them about the presence of a ghost in her room. The four friends then decide to use Sofia's camcorder to try and provide proof.

The group becomes inseparable and meets an unexpected soulmate: Uncle Phoon (70), Sofia's family chauffeur. Inspired by his tales of the triads that ruled Singapore in the colonial era and openly defied authority, they decide to form their own gang. But how to found a gang in modern Singapore, where even chewing gum is illegal?
